I see what you're saying. But unfortunately what I see isn't only in sitcoms, but also in dramas & other tv shows. If anything, the producers need to be confronted with these views because a lot of the time views on gays are black and white, nothing really ever covers the grey areas. Sorry, that last part doesn't sound clear but I didn't know how else to word it.

Would I like to see more variety with gay characters in shows? Absolutely. However, a stereo-typically effeminate gay character is not necessarily bad for the gay community, because there are stereo-typically effeminate people within the gay community, and sissyphobia is prevalent both outside and within the LGBT community. The problem arises when tv producers choose to use these stereotypes in a comedic way and so as to present them as a lesser person.

I said I'm not a huge fan of him, he's a good guy, I'm glad he stands up in what he believes in. But I don't like that TV PRODUCERS just make gay characters that live up to stereotypes. What I'm saying is that if we're gonna introduce NEW gay characters on tv, then we should make them non-stereotypical. However, everyday I see commercials for new upcoming tv shows with the most stereotypical gay characters. What I would like to see on tv would support the gay community, not degrade it.

Hey listen alright, there are gays who are boxers. They're some of the best in the sport. But why does nobody give them any attention? Because the media, especially sports reporters, all see gays as being flamboyant and feministic. If you want acceptance, then you need to show that not all gays act like Chris Colfer. The same goes with blacks, if you want to show that all blacks aren't thugs who eat fried chicken, you need to portray them in a way that isn't stereotypical.

No not because of his voice, because of his character and the way he acts! He makes the gays look really feministic, people should know that not every gay guy wants to be a fashion designer or a singer or an actor!

What the hell?? Why can't people just be frickin' normal and not crazy? Like, Chris is amazing, but he's just a human being, so APPROACH HIM LIKE ONE. What did they get out of mobbing him like that? Seriously. That makes a lot of genuine fans who would like to somehow calmly meet him (including myself) look horrible. :/

No he said that him as a person was 20% emotional nothing to do with his acting. He meant that he as himself isn't a very emotional person. That wasn't related to his acting methods at all.

I can't believe you could do such horrible things to such a great guy. He's my idol.... He is most Definetly my hero. I look up to him. I pray that one day I'll meet him and be able to tell him this.

I love how honest he is, like about being bullied, he doesn't lie and pretend to be modest, he just admits it, and that makes me love him more!

I think it's not that Chris is just being sad but that this interview is digging too deep into his life and his feelings that being fun right after that is pretty hard.
